Reaching small water systems with high efficiency drives

Drives manufacturers are reacting to trends in decarbonization and BIL language by getting more drives on lower horsepower pumps.

In the past six months, leaders in the wastewater industry have been placing an increasing importance on decarbonization and energy efficiency. Practical solutions discussed often include drives as a means for optimizing pump curves and energy use.

Joe Halliday, Danfoss Drives vice president of sales in North America, shares how the decarbonization movement is influencing the drives market and what that means for utilities. Perhaps most interesting is the growing trend toward placing drives on lower horsepower motors, which opens a new business avenue of small systems for drives manufacturers.
