Assembly Allows Tanks to Be Drained Without Mechanically Installed Nozzles

Aug. 1, 2016
Product is suitable for situations in which heavy solids or salts are found in tanks

Assmann Corp. of America offers the molded-in Full Drain Outlet (FDO) assembly for tanks of 2,500 gal and larger. This outlet provides the ability to drain the tank without the need for mechanically installed nozzles, and it can be utilized where heavy solids or salts may accumulate at the bottom of the tank.

The FDO can help eliminate difficult maintenance work, stands up to virtually any service condition and is available with multiple expansion joint options. The outlet is available in 3- and 4-in. sizes and in material variations of 316 stainless steel, titanium and Hastelloy construction. A replaceable polyethylene flange adapter is also featured; it allows the adapter to be removed for tank installation. The flange can also be replaced in case of chemical or mechanical damage without needing to replace the entire vessel.

The modular polyethylene tank stands, for use with the FDO assembly, can be installed on any suitable flat surface and elevate polyethylene tanks 12 in. from grade for a full-drain tank without the need to pour concrete. The stands are 100% chemical resistant and are suitable for all corrosive environments. This stand has been tested to over 300,000 lb of crush force.

Assmann Corp.’s linear polyethylene tanks are certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61, and the NSF certifies its high-density crosslink resin tanks for chemical storage. Assmann’s quality management system is also ISO 9001:2008-certified.
