American Water Executives to Participate in NARUC Annual Meeting

The company will have presenters on several panel discussions at the conference

American Water will play an active role in the upcoming National Assn. of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) Annual Meeting, which will be held Nov. 16 to 19, 2014 in San Francisco, Calif.           

American Water will have a strong presence at the conference with several key leaders participating in panel discussions. These include the following:

  • • Walter Lynch, president and chief operating officer of Regulated Operations, will participate in the “Inextricably Intertwined: Water for Energy; Energy for Water” panel to discuss cost-effectiveness methodologies for assessing the water-energy nexus.
  • • Rob MacLean, president of California American Water and Hawaii American Water, will join with other leaders in a session titled, “State of the Water Industry Update: The Biggest Challenges Facing Water and Wastewater Utilities” to discuss the salient issues facing the water and wastewater industries.
  • • Nick Rowe, senior vice president, Central Division, will discuss what state commissions and other policymakers can do or should do to encourage further use of wastewater recycling in a panel titled, “What Goes Around, Comes Around: Recycled Water.”

NARUC is the national association representing the State Public Service Commissioners who regulate essential utility services, including energy, telecommunications, and water.
