North Las Vegas to Construct Water Pipeline to Apex Industrial Park

April 23, 2018

Construction of the new project will be completed by 2020

Following a unanimous vote, North Las Vegas City Council approved plans for a water pipeline running to the city’s Apex Industrial Park. The pipeline will be approximately 12 miles in length and will attach to the southern end of the industrial park.

In addition to the pipeline itself, the city will also install a $4 million water tank that will connect to an existing city well, providing water for the northern end of the industrial complex as well.

Construction will commence in June 2018 with plans to complete the project some time in 2020. The total price tag for the project is projected at $54.2 million, and the city hopes the project will spur new job growth and land development.

The pipeline will service roughly 3,000 acres of industrial property and was a primary goal of of North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee.

“This was a goal I set before becoming Mayor,” Lee said. “To expand our city’s tax base and create new opportunities for our residents, and thanks to the work of our council and staff, Apex will soon be the economic breadbasket for the entire southern Nevada region.”
