KMS launches NEW MegaPure™ Hollow Fiber Ultrafiltration product line

Oct. 7, 2013

Koch Membrane Systems, Inc. (KMS), a Koch Chemical Technology Group, LLC Company, announced the official release of its new MegaPure™ hollow fiber product line, designed for high-solids water and wastewater applications. The product – which debuts at this year’s WEFTEC Exhibition & Conference – features an advanced cartridge design for better solids management and a virtually unbreakable reinforced hollow fiber for superior reliability. The MegaPure product line fills an important niche within the KMS family of ultrafiltration membranes. With an average continuous solids tolerance of up to 250 mg/L, the MegaPure hollow fiber system is an ideal solution for high solids applications such as surface water treatment, high TOC water treatment, RO pretreatment and tertiary wastewater treatment. Advantages offered by the MegaPure product line include the elimination of clarifier pretreatment in many applications, minimized downtime, reduced chemical usage, simplified operation and a lower total cost of ownership. “We’re very excited to bring this innovative new design to the water treatment market,” said Imran Jaferey, Senior Vice President of the Global Water and Wastewater business for KMS. “The addition of the MegaPure line allows KMS to offer a complete range of ultrafiltration products to our customers.” The MegaPure ultrafiltration system features a unique single-potting cartridge design which allows air scouring to penetrate the fiber bundle more completely and release accumulated solids to the bottom where they are easily drained away. The cartridge employs the same virtually unbreakable reinforced fiber made popular by the company’s proven PURON® submerged hollow fiber product line. “The combination of our durable reinforced hollow fibers and this unique single-potted cartridge configuration makes the MegaPure cartridge an unparalleled solution for high solids water treatment,” said Manny Singh, KMS Senior Vice President of Technology. “The engineering embodied in the MegaPure design strikes an effective balance between reliable, efficient performance and high quality output.” A comprehensive exhibit of KMS’ new MegaPure system, including a full-scale product display, animated video presentation and related documentation, will be available at the company’s WEFTEC 2013 trade show booth (booth# 3039).
