Grundfos launches digital platform for water and wastewater system optimization
Grundfos has introduced its Grundfos Connect digital portfolio, a suite of tools aimed at helping water and wastewater utilities improve operational efficiency, reduce losses and better manage aging infrastructure.
The platform includes multiple applications—such as Asset Monitor, Network Analytics, Demand Distribution and Sewer Insights—designed to provide real-time system visibility and data-driven decision-making. Of particular relevance to wastewater utilities, the Sewer Insights tool uses smart sensors and predictive analytics to monitor flows and help reduce overflow events across collection systems.
The launch comes as utilities face mounting pressures from workforce shortages, regulatory requirements and climate-driven variability. According to industry data cited in the release, nearly 20% of treated water in the U.S. is lost annually, underscoring the need for improved system monitoring and control.
“So many of our customers find themselves needing to do more with less, all while facing some of the biggest challenges we’ve seen from extreme weather, regulatory burdens and ageing infrastructure,” said Area Sales Director USA & Canada Robert Montenegro in a press release. “Our commitment is to help them navigate these complexities, and the launch of the Grundfos Connect digital portfolio is one significant way in which we are doing just that.”
The company said the portfolio is designed to integrate with both new and existing infrastructure, offering utilities a scalable approach to digital transformation while maintaining cybersecurity protections for cloud-based operations.
