ITT Industries, Inc., in partnership with China's State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA), announced that it will continue to sponsor the participation of Chinese students in the Stockholm Junior Water Prize competition, a global water research contest for students. The partnership started in 2003, and is now extended until 2008.
Zhao Youyi, from SEPA's Center for Environmental Education and Communications said, "to conduct an educational campaign about environmental and water resource protection and utility among the young Chinese generation is a long term project with significant importance. We greatly appreciate the participation and support from multinational companies like ITT Industries, and are impressed by their strong sense of social responsibility and corporate citizenship. I firmly believe that our next phase of partnership with ITT will be very beneficial."
In addition to sponsoring China's participation, ITT Industries sponsors the participation of students in the United States, Canada, Sweden, France and Holland. The company has also been a global sponsor of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize for nine years.
