The city of Peru is not happy with the results of a massive sewer project that ended last year, as reported by the NewsTribune.
It plans to request a meeting with T.J. Lambrecht Construction Inc. about what it said are "substandard results" of the project that ended last year on the southwest side of town.
The Joliet, Ill., company was contracted by Peru for a $6 million, two-year sewer project that created separate storm and sanitary sewers. According to the NewsTribune, Alderman Dave Waldorf of the Public Works Committee told the city council Monday that sinking manholes and catch basins are signs of “bad work.”
The city has retained some payments and the company has a performance bond for the project.
