Later this week, Water & Wastes Digest Managing Editor Elizabeth Lisican and I will attend the 2012 American Water Summit, taking place in Chicago, Nov. 14 and 15.

According to the summit organizer, American Water Intelligence, the summit will bring together leaders from public and private sectors to make connections and lay the groundwork for the future of water.

The event offers a dynamic agenda that kicks off with opening keynote presentations by Thomas Powers, water commissioner for city of Chicago; Barbara Bennett, U.S. EPA chief financial officer; Gretchen McClain, president and CEO of Xylem Inc.; and Dr. Upmanu Lall, director of Columbia Water Center. Additionally, key conference speakers and special guests from the public and private sectors will host 29 networking round table discussions on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
