HOBAS Pipe USA has promoted Steve Max to vice president—commercial. He will oversee the commercial department, which is responsible for estimating, quotations, shipping and customer service. The company’s legal issues also fall under this department.
Max joined HOBAS in 1993 and has served as commercial manager, expanding the department to provide a greater level of service to HOBAS’ clients. He made numerous internal improvements by streamlining procedures and computerizing all activities. He wrote and developed proprietary estimating programs.
Before joining HOBAS, he worked in the utility, highway and heavy construction industries in New York, New Mexico and Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Vietnam War.
