newterra Promotes COCHRANE Brand

Sept. 21, 2016
newterra acquired brand in 2014

newterra, a modular water, wastewater and groundwater treatment solutions company, is raising the profile of its COCHRANE brand of industrial, commercial and residential water treatment and deaeration systems. COCHRANE originated in 1863. newterra gained the brand with its acquisition of the Crane Water business in 2014.

The COCHRANE knowledge base lives on at newterra through continuity in staffing, design philosophies and the almost 1.5 million technical drawings on file—most of which have now been digitized for quick reference.

newterra’s industrial, commercial and residential treatment equipment will now feature the “COCHRANE by newterra” branding.

Beyond supplying Fortune 100 companies, COCHRANE’s water treatment equipment has been used by the U.S. Navy. Since 1934, it has provided boiler feedwater systems for ships in the fleet, including the Nimitz-class, nuclear-powered super carriers. The company is currently working on systems for the Ford-class aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy.

At the smaller end of the treatment spectrum, the brand will be present on the company’s commercial and residential EPRO line of compact, efficient reverse osmosis (RO) systems. These solutions for flow rates of 1,500 to 24,500 gpd will continue to be produced at newterra’s Venice, Fla., production facility.

newterra also offers full service and genuine parts for COCHRANE and its other legacy brands, including Chicago Heater, Belco and Environmental Products.
