American Water Works Association Honors Tom Crowley at 2012 ACE Conference

Carollo Engineers is proud to announce that Senior Engineer Thomas Crowley was recently awarded the 2012 George Warren Fuller Award by the American Water Works Assn. (AWWA) for his commitment to providing safe, clean and affordable drinking water to citizens of Missouri, as well as his support of international clean water efforts.

The George Warren Fuller Award is presented annually to distinguished members of AWWA in recognition of their dedication to the water supply field, strong leadership skills and engineering talents. The Fuller Award is the highest national honor that a local AWWA section can bestow on one of its members. This year, the Missouri Section recognized Crowley’s deserving efforts by presenting him with the award at the AWWA ACE Conference in June.

Highly active in the water industry community throughout his career, Crowley has a determined focus on public safety and education. His volunteer efforts helped AWWA form student chapters in the state of Missouri. These chapters experienced tremendous growth during their first four years. As chairman of the Student Activities Committee for the AWWA Missouri section, Crowley helps students gain firsthand exposure to the drinking water industry.

Crowley is currently the chairperson for Water for People, an organization that brings together communities, governments and entrepreneurs to establish creative, collaborative solutions that allow people to build and maintain their own reliable, safe water systems. As chairperson and advocate, he works to raise money and awareness for the foundation, which provides clean drinking water for third world countries.

“I’m incredibly honored to be acknowledged by my industry peers, especially with such a prestigious award,” said Crowley. “Reflecting back on what got me here, I am truly indebted to all of the dedicated volunteers in the Missouri Section. An award like this gives me further inspiration to continue doing what I love: helping to provide safe drinking water to the citizens of Missouri inspiring the same level of passion to future generations of engineers, and educating the general public on its importance.”
