Water Environment & Technology Wins 2011 Magnus Opus Award

June 21, 2011
WEF’s flagship magazine received accolade for best engineering and construction publication

The Water Environment Federation (WEF) is a winner of the ContentWise 2011 Magnus Opus Award, a custom media awards program that recognizes excellence in editorial, design and strategy for organizations using print and online publications and social media in their content marketing efforts.

WEF’s flagship magazine, Water Environment & Technology, received a gold award for best engineering and construction publication in the all-around publication category.

According to the award notification, the Magnus Opus Awards were established “to provide a unique means of evaluating and celebrating the best in custom publications, one that would set the quality bar for our industry.”

Now in its eighth year, and presented by ContentWise and the Content Marketing Institute, the awards program has given career-making industry recognition to writers, editors, designers and communication managers who do exceptional print and online work both in the traditional and social media formats.

Professors from the Missouri School of Journalism and leading custom-publishing professionals who specialize in particular content or design areas judge the awards based on a defined set of criteria specific to each of the categories. Judges consider such elements as informational and entertainment value, quality of writing and display copy, creative use of imagery and typography, and consistency of color palette and style.
