A truck burglary in Tampa, Fla., is being investigated after it was revealed that plans for security measures for Tampa's water treatment plants were located inside the vehicle including maps, instructions for cameras and security systems and control panel wiring instructions.
The truck–belonging to Protective Security Systems, a private security company based in Orlando, Fla.–was robbed at an AmeriSuites hotel in Tampa. The owner of the truck reported that he was in town on business but not with Tampa Water. Police report it was a random burglary and there is no homeland security concern at this time. The security systems in the stolen binder represent a proposed security system and not the actual one that is in place at this time.
The information was left in the back seat of the vehicle and covered by a towel reported ABC Tampa News. Police reported that it may have been mistaken for a checkbook.
