Xylem ships first ozone system; ABB welcomes foreign exchange students

Xylem Ships First Ozone System From New Factory

Xylem recently produced, tested and shipped its first Wedeco ozone system from its new facility in Freedom, Pa., marking the first Xylem product to come out of the factory, which was acquired in Sept. 2017 from Mitsubishi Electric.

The Wedeco system will be used in one of the country’s busiest airports as part of a wastewater reuse project with Carollo Engineers and Walsh Construction Co.. The system is scheduled to go online later this year.

ClockSpring|NRI Adds Milliken Infrastructure Solutions to its Portfolio

ClockSpring|NRI acquired Milliken Infrastructure Solutions LLC, previously a subsidiary of Milliken & Co., expanding its line of composite solutions for industrial process and transmission pipelines and adding new technologies for water and wastewater infrastructure restoration.

“This acquisition expands ClockSpring|NRI’s ability to address complex integrity issues,” said Matthew Boucher, ClockSpring|NRI CEO. “Our combined engineering expertise and complementary product lines enable us to offer the most comprehensive suite of products and services for the safe and sustainable repair, maintenance, and construction of critical infrastructure.”

ABB Welcomes Swiss Foreign Exchange Students

The Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce and the community effort towards transforming workforce development is adding a global twist this summer. ABB will welcome a group of Swiss apprentices who will spend their summer on assignment at ABB in Fort Smith, Ark. The announcement was made in Zurich, Switzerland, between the company, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and Fort Smith Chamber officials.

"I am delighted by the strong partnership Arkansas and ABB enjoy. ABB's global leadership is dependent upon world-class employees, and Arkansas's commitment to excellence will ensure these apprentices can continue their education among peers. I look forward to having ABB's apprentices in Arkansas later this year," said Gov. Asa Hutchinson.
