The Hang Huu Huynh Wastewater Treatment Company in southern Vietnam has inaugurated $4.33 million in an industrial wastewater plant using biological technology. According to Saigon Online, it is the first of its kind in Vietnam.
One plant applies biological technology with the capacity between 10,000 cu meters and 18,000 cu meters per day to treat industrial wastewater into clean water for daily use and production to meet the Ministry of Natural resources and Environment and the Ministry of Health’s requirements, according to Saigon Online. The capacity is twice higher than wastewater discharged from the Song Than Industrial Park.
After operation, the plant will treat wastewater from the Song Than 1 and the Song Than 2 in Di An Town and neighboring areas, according to the online site.
Hoang Van Thuc, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Environment Administration, said that the government took heed to wastewater treatment in industrial parks because the government are calling for social contribution to wastewater treatment in industrial parks, handicraft villages and residential quarters.
Thuc added that the government encourages the expansion of the plant in the Song Than Industrial Park with biological technology.
