The company named a distributors & a business manager in China

Hydro Intl. is expanding its activities in China with the appointment of a dedicated business manager and distributors to support growing business opportunities across the country.

Hydro has recruited Charlie Zhong as business manager, based in Shanghai, to co-ordinate Hydro’s introduction of storm water and wastewater treatment technologies in Greater China. Zhong will be responsible for developing Hydro’s distributor network and promoting market-leading vortex control and separation solutions in China, Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

To help fast-track the adoption of Hydro’s fine grit removal technology for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment in China, Hydro has appointed TianSheng Environmental Eng. (Chengdu) Co. Ltd. (TCEE) to be a Hydro distributor. TCEE already has extensive relationships with wastewater treatment plants across China and significant experience of introducing western wastewater technologies for new plants and equipment upgrades, particularly in the Beijing, Chengdu and Chongqing regions.

Hydro has also signed an agreement with Inter Flow Control Technologies (Tianjin) Co. Ltd. (IFC ) to focus on the introduction of Hydro’s hydrodynamic vortex technologies for controlling and treating surface water and preventing sewer overflows. IFC will focus its activities initially around Tianjin, Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hefei, Wuxi and Guangzhou.

Charlie Zhong joins Hydro with 13 years of experience working in sales and account management in water and related industries, including a role as area manager for Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies in Shanghai.

“China is facing huge urban water management challenges to keep pace with the country’s rapidly-urbanising economy," said Clive Evans, international business director for Hydro Intl. "The Chinese Government is committed to major investment in water infrastructure through the twelfth five-year plan.

“China needs rapid access to the latest urban water management technologies, so it can build new efficient wastewater treatment plants and upgrade its existing facilities. Tackling the growing challenge of urban flooding and removing pollutants from urban waters is high on the city planners’ environmental agenda. China therefore offers Hydro a significant opportunity to introduce its well-proven and innovative technologies for water control and treatment.”

Hydro also recently opened a new office in Singapore, headed by Business Manager Andy Tang. It has provided a strategic centre for introducing and supporting Hydro’s vortex control and separation technologies across the Asia Pacific region.
