Cortec Adds Florida Biotechnology Campus

The research facility has 36,000 sq ft of office, manufacturing, warehouse & laboratory space

With the completion of its latest acquisition, Cortec Biotechnology Campus, Cortec Corp. and its subsidiaries are the world’s largest producer of VCI, vapor phase corrosion inhibitor (VpCI), and migratory corrosion inhibitor (MCI).

This new Campus at 2420 Trailmate Drive, Sarasota, Fla., is located in the industrial park of Parkland Centre near the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. It is a research facility with 36,000 sq ft of office, manufacturing, warehouse and laboratory space.

Cortec Biotechnology Campus will house equipment for the manufacturing of Cortec’s Nano-VpCI coatings and Bionetix’s bioremediation and cleaning products. Part of the warehouse will be designated for warehousing and shipping of Cortec products that are deemed “freezable” and cannot be shipped out of the Minnesota or Wisconsin plants during the winter months.

The complex also will house two laboratories for biotechnology and marine corrosion research as well as sales and customer support offices for the Southeastern U.S., Caribbean, and Central and South Americas.

With this latest expansion, Cortec now has 400,000 sq ft of total space, including its six plants and the Corporate Technical Center in St. Paul, Minn., States and one plant each in Montreal, Canada, and Beli Manastir, Croatia.
