Northern Lake Service Inc. has been approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for all of the analytical methods required under the UCMR3 drinking water testing program. The final rule for the program was published in May 2012.
This program is mandated as part of EPA’s Safe Drinking Water Act (SWDA) for all public water systems serving more than 10,000 people. These systems are required to test for the UCMR3 list of compounds between 2013 and 2015.
During the UCMR2 cycle, NLS analyzed thousands of samples from all fifty states and several U.S. territories. “We look forward to making this a convenient process for clients all around the country just as we did during the UCMR2 cycle. Involvement in the UCMR program requires a considerable investment in expertise and instrumentation. Only a handful of labs around the country gain EPA approval for all of the required methods. We’re proud to be one of them, and look forward to being a national provider in this third round of UCMR,” according to Aaron Kapellusch, business development director at NLS.
