WWEMA Accepting Nominations for Stockholm Industry Water Award

Jan. 14, 2004

The Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association (WWEMA) will be accepting nominations from its members through Feb. 28 for the prestigious Stockholm Industry Water Award.

"I am confident there are excellent candidates among the WWEMA membership," said WWEMA President Dawn Kristof in a news release. She added that WWEMA members might want to seriously consider entering, as it offers tremendous marketing value for the winner.

Zenon Environmental won the award last year for its ZeeWeed® membrane technology which removes pathogenic microorganisms not eliminated by conventional water treatment. The judging committee regarded this technology as a valuable contribution towards safeguarding potable water supplies.

The Stockholm Industry Water Award was established in 2000 by the Stockholm Water Foundation in co-operation with the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

A seven-member international Award Committee with representatives of the Founders of the Award as well as Global Water Partnership, International Water Association, and research and development appoint the laureate company.

This process for applying is simple and straightforward by completing a brief, two-page nomination form. For further information, visit http://www.wwema.org
