Pall/W.L. Gore Enter Strategic Alliance to Provide High Performance Filtration Systems

Companies will work together to extend the reach of GORE-TEX filters and to identify novel applications for this versatile material
Dec. 16, 2003

Pall Corp. and L. Gore & Associates have entered into a strategic alliance that gives Pall exclusive worldwide rights to GORE-TEX filter technology to be utilized in backwashable filtration systems for such applications as brine, catalyst recovery and wastewater treatment.

Perhaps best known by consumers as a component of water and windproof clothing, GORE-TEX membranes are also widely used as a high-performance filter material. Gore has a significant installed base of customers that will now be served by Pall.

The companies will work together to extend the reach of GORE-TEX filters and to identify novel applications for this versatile material. One of their first joint efforts will be to develop a new generation of brine polishing systems that eliminate requirements for pre-coating, a process that is both capital and space intensive.
