Texas awards $3.4M to wastewater improvement project
The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) announced that it is providing a $3,425,000 loan to a wastewater system improvement project in the Lazy River Improvement District in Montgomery County.
Provided from the Texas Water Development Fund, the district will use the assistance for the planning, design, and construction of wastewater system improvements. TWDB says that the work will upgrade and repurpose existing equipment at the district’s wastewater treatment plant.
The loan could save the district approximately $168,000.
TWDB is Texas’s state agency, charged with assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans. The board administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for water infrastructure projects.
