President Donald J. Trump ceased efforts to assemble an Advisory Council on Infrastructure, which would have advised Trump on his $1 trillion infrastructure plan. Approximately 15 members would have sat on the council, making recommendations to the president on the funding, support and delivery of infrastructure projects.
Last month, Trump signed an executive order setting up the council; however, after his response to the violent rally in Charlottesville, Va., business leaders began to drop out. In addition, a nonprofit sued Trump, claiming he allegedly set it up without the required public disclosures.
According to the Trump Administration, the infrastructure plan is meant to promote job creation and bolster the U.S. economy.
