Ufuk Erdal Joins AECOM

New leader brings 21 years of industry experience

AECOM announced that Ufuk Erdal has been named national water reuse technical practice leader within design consulting services Americas. In this role, Erdal will support AECOM clients in addressing their water reuse management challenges, especially in areas with recurring drought and the need to consider the recovery and reuse of water. He also will advance AECOM’s technical leadership in developing safe and reliable water reuse technologies and cost-effective strategies to meet the challenges of a water-constrained world.

Erdal has more than 21 years of experience in planning, pilot testing, designing, and costing treatment facilities. He is the co-author of three Water Environment Federation (WEF) manuals and chapter author of the “Potable Reuse Research Compilation: Synthesis of Findings - Final Report” by the Water Environment and Reuse Foundation. He also authored more than 60 peer-review, conference and technical papers.

Erdal is a graduate of the Istanbul Technical University (B.S. environmental engineering), Ohio State University (M.S. civil engineering) and Virginia Tech (Ph.D. civil engineering). He is an active member of the American Membrane Technology Assn., California Water Environment Assn., National Water Research Institute, WateReuse Assn., WEF and Water Research Foundation.
