Lana Tullis has rejoined Burns & McDonnell in Minneapolis as a senior staff engineer, where she will develop and oversee wastewater systems programs and projects for public sector and industrial clients. She began her career with Burns & McDonnell in 1995 and left for another Minnesota-based consulting engineering firm in 2001.
“We are thrilled to have Lana come back home to Burns & McDonnell,” says Gene Sieve, vice president and general manager of the Minnesota region of Burns & McDonnell. “She has a deep understanding of the importance of keeping Minnesota’s water quality among the best in the nation. She also has good relationships with a number of Minnesota municipalities and industries and has worked on many aspects of wastewater treatment design and construction.”
During her 21-year career, Tullis has gained experience in every aspect of industrial and municipal wastewater systems improvement projects, including treatment, collection and conveyance, planning, permitting, funding and construction management. Her industrial experience has focused primarily on clients in the food and beverage industries, including meat, vegetable and dairy processing facilities.
In addition to her engineering and construction experience, Tullis has prepared numerous specifications, operations and maintenance plans, rate studies, capital improvement plans, toxicity reduction evaluations and discharge monitoring reports. She has also served as community outreach liaison with elected officials, public administrators and the general public.
Tullis is active in professional organizations, including serving as chairperson for the Central States Water Environment Assn. 2015 to 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and a Master of Science degree in civil/environmental engineering from Iowa State University. She is a registered professional engineer in Minnesota and Missouri.
