Five New Directors Join WaterTAP Board

Kevin Bossy, John Braam, Angella Hughes, Jane Kearns & Tanja McQueen assume duties immediately

The WaterTAP Board has added five new directors: Kevin Bossy, John Braam, Angella Hughes, Jane Kearns and Tanja McQueen. They will join five incumbent directors. Under WaterTAP’s corporate charter that provides for a private-sector framework, the board selects its members autonomously, following a call for directors and careful screening.

“The board is pleased to welcome Kevin, John, Angella, Jane and Tanja,” said WaterTAP Board Chair Kenneth A. Morrison. “They represent a broad spectrum of experience in Ontario’s water sector and beyond. They will help guide WaterTAP’s mandate and drive more Ontario success stories.”

Bossy was CEO of Bishop Water Technologies, based in Renfrew, Ontario, Canada. He brings experience as an entrepreneur in Ontario’s water technology sector, as well as in investment banking and sales.

Recent George Warren Fuller Award recipient Braam was managing director for Environmental and Engineering Services and the City Engineer at the City of London. He also was the chief administrative officer for the Lake Huron and Elgin Area Regional Water Supply Systems.

As president and CEO of Xogen Technologies, Hughes has raised more than $20 million in capital, private equity, debt and government grants to commercialize the company’s technology. She also brings experience with academic and research partnerships.

Kearns, a senior advisor with MaRS Cleantech and seasoned entrepreneur, is a recognized leader in sustainable innovation. She is a former cleantech entrepreneur and works with growing companies at the intersection of business and sustainability.

McQueen is a business leader with more than 25 years of experience in organizational change. She recently retired as CEO of the BC Water & Waste Assn. and was previously a senior officer of BioteQ Environmental Technologies, a Vancouver-based water technology company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

WaterTAP Director Lesley Gallinger retires from the Board. “We thank Lesley for her valuable contributions to WaterTAP’s governance over the past two years,” Morrison said.
