New global director of sales to oversee PolyCera membrane products

Shiladitya (Shil) Basu has joined Water Planet Inc. as global director of sales for PolyCera membrane products, which were launched earlier this year.

Based on next-generation polymeric materials, PolyCera is Water Planet’s membrane technology that combines the performance characteristics of ceramic membranes with the economics and form factors of polymeric membranes.

Basu comes to Water Planet after 10 years in a variety of positions that focused on water treatment and membrane technologies in both the municipal and oil and gas industries. He has held technical, commercial, and leadership roles at Siemens Water Technologies (now Evoqua), Champion Technologies (now Nalco Champion, an Ecolab company) and, most recently, with Hydranautics, where he managed all commercial aspects of the company’s activities in the oil and gas industry globally.

“We are pleased to welcome Shil to the growing Water Planet team. He brings tremendous experience working with several of the major players in the water treatment industry, further strengthening our organization and bringing valuable business insights to the marketing of our revolutionary PolyCera membrane filtration products,” said Eric Hoek, Water Planet CEO.

Basu has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Case Western University and has earned his PE license (MA) in chemical engineering. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
