Six Engineers Join Black & Veatch Houston Office

Fakheri, Flores, Issazadeh, Sandt, Mendiola, Evans support project growth

Black & Veatch has hired or relocated an additional six engineers for its water and wastewater business at its Houston regional office. The new additions support Black & Veatch project growth in Texas and globally. The company has had an office presence in Houston for more than 20 years.

The newly hired or relocated engineers include Fariborz Fakheri, project manager; Sergio Flores, civil engineer; Andrew Issazadeh, civil-structural engineer; Justin Sandt, civil engineer; Jose Mendiola; civil engineer; and Corey Evans, civil engineer.

Fariborz Fakheri has more than 35 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry. He has served as operations, project, and construction managers across the water and chemical manufacturing industry. Fakheri earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and masters' of business administration and business strategy from Southern Methodist University.

Sergio Flores has experience in tunneling, pipeline, marine construction and structural design. During his career, Flores has provided field, structural and resident engineering for more than $500 million in public and private projects. Flores earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Mexico.

Andrew Issazadeh has served as structural engineer and performed structural design and analysis for oil and gas related projects. He also has experience in designing and constructing bridges. Issazadeh earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in civil/structural engineering from the University of Houston.

Justin Sandt is experienced in project management, engineering design, and construction of water, wastewater and facility projects. He has more than seven years of experience serving as a project engineer and manager on numerous cit of Houston water and wastewater distribution and treatment plant projects. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, water resources and environmental from Texas A&M University.

Jose Mendiola has served as a project engineer in many Houston regional water infrastructure and improvements projects. Mendiola earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Houston.

Corey Evans has experience in structural design and desalination of brackish water. He also has provided services in estimating needed volumes of monofills, a landfill for biosolid disposal. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
