Aclara Hosts Annual Client Conference in Nashville

April 21, 2015
Representatives from electric, water and gas utilities are expected to attend, as well as other industry leaders, consultants and prospects

Aclara Technologies LLC will host its annual Aclara Client Conference in Nashville, April 20 to 24. More than 600 representatives from 250 electric, water and gas utilities from around the globe are expected to attend the event. Additionally, for the first time, Aclara has opened the conference to other industry leaders, consultants and prospects as it explores more deeply the potential of Smart Infrastructure Solutions (SIS). The conference will be held at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel.

The Aclara Client Conference features a schedule of training and technical sessions focused on the company’s portfolio of products and services. Product demonstrations and a preview of Aclara’s upcoming technologies provide new insights into the company’s latest advancements, while presentations and roundtable discussions complement the technical sessions.

Another highlight of the conference is an exhibition showcasing about 30 suppliers of products and services for water, gas and electric utilities. A networking program offers business-building opportunities for the conference delegates throughout the week.

Allan Connolly, Aclara president and CEO, will open the program with a company update and industry outlook. The keynote presentation will be delivered by best-selling author and internationally renowned speaker Scott McKain, who is known for his thought-provoking views on ways to create more compelling connections between businesses and customers, establishing differentiation in the marketplace.

This year, for the first time, Aclara will present a Smart Infrastructure Executive Summit, a one-day, invitation-only strategic forum that brings together electric, gas and water industry thought leaders representing utilities, innovators, regulators and policy makers. Held April 22, the summit will cover an array of topics critical to the evaluation and implementation of SIS.

Aclara has recently introduced technologies such as its iiDEAS Operational Data Management System, a technology platform that allows utilities to realize the full potential of a true smart infrastructure environment. The company’s recently released Metrum Cellular LTE product line combines with the iiDEAS platform to provide smart grid applications including advanced metering infrastructure, outage and restoration management, conservation voltage reduction, volt/VAR optimization, and fault detection and location. Both technologies will be showcased at the conference.

Other activities include a golf tournament, a 5K Run to Make an Impact to raise funds for Water.org, a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament and more. The conference location allows for easy access to many attractions, including Bridgestone Arena, LP Field, B.B. King’s Blues Club, the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, Ryman Auditorium, the Historic Second Avenue District and the recently acquired Nashville Convention Center.
