April 10, 2015
The council is dedicated to improving the livability, workability and sustainability of the world’s cities

Badger Meter has become an associate partner of the Smart Cities Council (SCC), a coalition of industry thought leaders, innovators and practitioners dedicated to improving the livability, workability and sustainability of the world’s cities.

Rapidly growing populations in urban areas with aging infrastructures and a rising demand for limited resources are creating new challenges to improve daily life in cities. The SCC envisions a world where digital technology and intelligent design have been harnessed to create smart, sustainable cities with high-quality living and jobs, promoting livability, workability and sustainability.

Since 1905, Badger Meter has been serving water utilities and municipalities with end-to-end solutions that help them generate needed revenue, monitor and conserve their resources and help them better serve their end-water customers. The company’s municipal water solutions include a comprehensive mechanical and electronic metering line, AMR/AMI/AMA technology and analytics tools that help make water visible.

“Partnering with the Smart Cities Council is a natural connection for Badger Meter since a smart water network is a key component in the creation of a smart city,” said Kim Stoll, vice president of sales and marketing for Badger Meter. “We are committed to making it easier and more cost-effective for cities of all sizes to achieve a smart water network and reach their sustainability goals.”
