The system will help the district continue its advancement toward the goal of total system awareness

IDModeling Inc., a global provider of smart water network software and services, is deploying its flagship smart water enterprise software, Sedaru, for Camrosa Water District in Camarillo, Calif.

As a real-time solution to connect organizational data, systems, and users across the water enterprise, Sedaru creates and distributes hydraulic, asset and operational management content so utilities can anticipate water operations, understand impacts and solve problems for energy, quality, water resource, and asset management initiatives.

Camrosa delivers water to approximately 27,000 residents in Ventura County, Calif. Camrosa selected IDModeling to both provide professional hydraulic modeling services and deliver their model in the Sedaru Smart Modeling platform. The system will help the district continue its advancement toward the goal of total system awareness—both for planned and unplanned events.

“In Southern California’s rapidly changing water landscape, and especially in challenging periods like the current drought, it’s imperative we have the ability to monitor our system and respond to incidents on both the supply or demand side,” said Tony Stafford, Camrosa’s general manager. “Sedaru will play an important role in the planning aspects of our water-resource management.”

Sedaru’s ability to leverage hydraulic modeling data means that Camrosa will be able to analyze scenarios before taking action, aiding in foreseeing and choosing the most cost effective solutions. In addition, Camrosa's model is now positioned to rapidly connect to many other data sources, paving the way for the future use of GIS, SCADA, AMI/AMR meter data or others, thereby maximizing operational awareness and creating further opportunities to optimize system operations through energy and water quality management.
