Wayne J. Griffin Electric Inc. (Griffin Electric) has recently completed electrical installation work at the Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Columbia, SC.
Improvements to the 60-million-gal-per-day capacity facility included an expansion and upgrade to the influent pump station and preliminary treatment facility.
Griffin Electric’s role included upgrading a 23kv distribution and plant distribution loop, in addition to installing new transformers, and connecting service to new and existing unit substations, motor control centers and equipment.
Serving as the project’s general contractor was Adams Robinson Enterprises Inc., of Dayton, Ohio, with Hazen and Sawyer of Charlotte, the project architect and electrical engineer.
“Performing work at any active facility means that our contributions cannot affect its daily operations,” said Wayne J. Griffin, president of Griffin Electric. “Our team knows how to successfully execute the required electrical installation work for the job, without compromising plant functionality.”
