Jason Stern, P.E., Joins Greenman-Pedersen as Senior Project Manager
Jason Stern has joined Greenman-Pedersen Inc. (GPI), an engineering and construction services firm, as senior project manager in its Babylon, N.Y., office.
In his new position, Mr. Stern will be responsible for managing structural design projects for the branch’s structural department. His recent accomplishments include project manager for the Willets Point Development Plan Access Modification Report, structural hardening design for various Port Authority of New York. and New Jersey facilities and rehabilitation of the Willis Avenue Bridge over the Major Deegan Expressway.
Mr. Stern, a professional engineer in New York and Pennsylvania, has over 16 years of experience on large, complex, multi-discipline transportation projects. His experience includes highway and bridge design, railroad facilities design and in-depth bridge inspections. Also, many of these projects involved environmental components, highway safety, drainage mitigations and coordination with multiple agencies. Mr. Stern has served as project manager for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, New York City Economic Development Corporation, New York City and New York State Departments of Transportation, and the MTA Long Island Rail Road, Metro-North and New York City Transit. Recent projects he has managed include various security capital projects for the Port Authority, Willets Point Development Plan and Environmental Impact Statement for the New York City Economic Development Corporation, and the Reconstruction of Bruckner Expressway/Sheridan Expressway for the New York State Department of Transportation.
Prior to joining Greenman-Pedersen Inc., Mr. Stern was with URS in New York City, serving as deputy civil department manager/project manager. Mr. Stern earned an MS in civil engineering from Polytechnic University, and a BS from Pennsylvania State University. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Long Island Branch, serving on the board of directors from 2005 to present, and as president for the 2009/2010 term.
