The following American Water Works Association standards have been issued.

New

B102-04 Manganese Greensand for Filters

Scope: This standard describes manganese greensand used in pressure and gravity filters to remove dissolved iron, manganese, radium, arsenic, and hydrogen sulfide. It prescribes the placement, handling, preparation and regeneration of manganese greensand media.

Purpose: This standard provides minimum physical, chemical, packaging, shipping, and testing requirements for manganese greensand filter media.

Revised

B451-04 Poly(Diallyldimethylammonium Chloride)

Scope: This standard describes Poly(Diallyldimethylammonium Chloride) for use in water supply service applications.

Purpose: This standard provides minimum physical, chemical, packaging, shipping, and testing requirements for poly DADMAC products.

Revisions: The Background section of the forward has been revised. Sec. 4.1 was added to address material requirements. Sec. 4.6 was revised to address a possible chemical reaction.

Revised

C402-05 Asbestos-Cement Transmission Pipe, 18 In. Through 42 In. (450 mm Through 1,050 mm) for Water Supply Service

Scope: This standard describes nine pressure classifications of Type I and Type II asbestos-cement pipe, 18 in. through 42 in. (450 mm through 1,050 mm) in diameter, for underground installation to convey water in water supply service systems.

Purpose: This standard provides purchasers, manufacturers, and constructors with minimum requirements for asbestos-cement transmission pipe for water supply service, including materials, design, fabrication, and testing requirements.

Revisions: There are no major revisions to the last edition of this standard.

Revised

C907-04 Injection-Molded Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Pressure Fittings, 4 In. Through 12 In. (100 mm Through 300 mm), for Water Distribution

Scope: This standard describes Pressure Class 150 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) injection-molded fittings with push-on, rubber-gasketed joints in nominal sizes 4 in. through 12 in. (100 mm through 300 mm).

Purpose: This standard provides purchasers, manufacturers, and suppliers with the minimum requirements for PVC pressure injection molded fittings for underground water distribution systems.

Revisions: The standard now includes:

* 1. 10 in. (250 mm) repair and line couplings

* 2. 4 in. (100 mm), 6 in. (150 mm), and 8 in. (200 mm) single-tapped and double-tapped couplings

* 3. 4 in. through 8 in. (100 mm through 200 mm) 11-1/4 degree bends

* 4. 4 in. through 12 in. (100 mm through 300 mm) increaser/reducer couplings

* 5. 4 in. through 8 in. (100 mm through 200 mm) caps, plugs, and tapped plugs

* 6. 4 in. through 6 in. (100 mm through 150 mm) Cast Iron (CI) to Iron Pipe Size (IPS) adapters

7. Editorial changes have been made throughout the standard

Revised

D104-04 Automatically Controlled, Impressed-Current Cathodic Protection for the Interior of Steel Water Tanks

Scope: This standard describes automatically controlled, impressed-current cathodic protection systems intended to minimize corrosion of submerged interior steel surfaces of water storage tanks and 30-in. (750 mm) diameter and larger wet risers of elevated tanks. It does not describe sacrificial (galvanic) anode-type cathodic protection systems or manually controlled, impressed-current systems.

Purpose: This standard provides purchasers, manufacturers, and suppliers with the minimum requirements of automatically controlled, impressed-current cathodic protection for the interior of steel water tanks, including design, system components, workmanship, and installation.

Revisions: Editorial changes have been made throughout the standard.
