Veolia Water Awarded the Wastewater Management Contract of the Town of Salgotarjan in Hungary

Veolia Water, the Water Division of Veolia Environnment announced that it has won the wastewater management contract awarded by the Hungarian town of Salgotarjan (60,000 inhabitants).

The 20-year contract covers operation of the town's wastewater network and treatment facility via Salgotarjan Csatornam—operating company that employs 30 people. Under the terms of the contract, representing total revenue of around 28 million Euro, Veolia Water will provide the town with wastewater services meeting the EU standards.

Veolia Water has been established in Hungary since 1994. The company also manages wastewater services for the capital town of Budapest, as well as water and waste services for the town of Szeged. With the addition of Salgotarjan, Veolia Water will be the water service provider to more than 2 million Hungarians and will employ a workforce of more than 1,500.
