Metropolitan District Selects RAMA for Automatic Meter Reading Solution
AT RAMAR LLC announes that the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) of Connecticut has selected RAMAR’s 900 Series Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) product line for automating the collection of data from their water meters.
The MDC’s strategy calls for an AMR system built on an open system philosophy allowing them to use exsisting meters and meter reading equipment. The project will include 55,000—meter interface units to be installed over a 6—year period. Implenmenting bagan in April 2003 with a pilot study at over 100 locations and full deployment is sheduled to continue throug at least 2009.
Before selecting RAMAR, the MDC conucted extensive field tests, had software developed to interface with the MDC’s billing system, and evaluated the automated data collection system’s compatibility.
