Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) selected IDModeling Inc. to deploy its flagship smart water and wastewater enterprise software, Sedaru. Sedaru leverages hydraulic, asset and operational management analytics so utilities can anticipate water operations, understand impacts and solve problems for energy, quality, water resource and asset management initiatives.
The district provides wholesale water and groundwater management services to the 1.8 million residents of Santa Clara County, Calif., in the heart of Silicon Valley. Sedaru will be the district's hub for system management and optimization, offering operational and asset management benefits directly to the district in addition to its numerous participating retail water systems.
Sedaru will integrate with SCVWD's Maximo CMMS, and pave the way for the District to create a true smart water network, delivering actionable insights anywhere, anytime—in real-time—enabling SCVWD to share outage information with member agencies, take immediate action when necessary, optimize maintenance schedules, and support decision-making with predictive outage response plans.
"We are looking forward to having Sedaru for staff to collect and properly store asset and maintenance data from the field. Collecting and analyzing this data consistently will allow us to greatly improve the management of our assets," said Erin Baker, P.E., engineering manager for Santa Clara Valley Water District.
"We're very excited to see that the team at Santa Clara Valley Water District has a clear goal of where they want to enhance their capabilities to manage and optimize their system," said Kevin Koshko, Sedaru product director. "The district will be able to apply Sedaru's powerful analytics to their asset and operational data to help them realize their vision of comprehensive, and prioritized asset management."
