WEF Announces Joint Residuals & Biosolids Management Conference

Advancing the State of Technology, April 17-20, in Nashville, Tenn.

The Water Environment Federation (WEF) will present Joint Residuals and Biosolids Management Conference 2005: Advancing the State of Technology, April 17-20 at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel in Nashville, Tenn.

Held in partnership with the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the Kentucky-Tennessee Water Environment Association (KY-TN WEA), this conference will examine current and emerging technologies for biosolids and residuals management and the latest regulatory updates on environmental standards, management and application standards.

Beginning Sunday, April 17, participants will choose from 21 extensive technical sessions, 3 conference workshops, and five technical tours. The educational presentations will focus on critical and noteworthy topics, including: research and development programs, land application, odor control, nutrient management, and building public support and tackling politics, among others.

The Opening General Session will take place Monday, April 18 and feature invited speakers including Bill Purcell, Mayor of Nashville and Betsy Child, Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. They are expected to share their perspectives on regional and national residuals and biosolids issues with a focus on the need for technology advancement and innovative solutions in today’s quickly changing world.

Encouraged to attend are design engineering and construction professionals, municipal wastewater and water treatment system managers, residuals and biosolids generators and appliers, pollution control equipment manufacturers, local, state, and federal regulatory agency personnel, designers and operators of solids treatment facilities, industrial water and wastewater treatment professionals, farmers and agriculturalists, landscapers, and organic and inorganic residuals managers.
