Delmar Marine will be the exclusive sales representative in Turkey for the Balpure & Mariner Omnipure product lines
Severn Trent De Nora, a provider of electrolytic water disinfection solutions, has appointed Delmar Marine as its exclusive sales representative in Turkey for the Type-Approved Balpure ballast water treatment system and Mariner Omnipure marine sewage treatment system product lines.
As a commercial marine company headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, Delmar provides services to the Turkish shipping and yachting industry, including ship design, ship construction and operation, shipbuilding methods and management, marine engineering systems, high-quality equipment and system supplies.
Turkey currently ranks as the 15th largest ship-owning nation in the world with an owned and controlled fleet totaling close to 20 million deadweight tons (dwt). It has an active shipbuilding industry, with about 30 ship yards building mainly small tankers and bulkers ranging from 500 to 25,000 dwt. Turkey is also a well-known tugboat building market. Recently Turkey has been receiving orders for PSV/OSV/AHTS projects. The country ranks second in the world for building small tankers between 1,000 and 10,000 dwt. Turkey is also the third largest yacht manufacturer in the world.
“Turkey has an active shipbuilding industry with high demand for ballast water treatment solutions like our Balpure system,” said Jim McGillivray, Balpure sales director for Severn Trent De Nora. “Teaming up with Delmar Marine enables us to penetrate the Turkish market and position Balpure as the preferred solution for treating ballast water. Delmar is passionate about the shipbuilding market and understands its needs. This partnership helps to solidify the expansion of our global sales and support network, which is crucial with the Ballast Water Convention close to full ratification. Since the launch of Balpure in July 2011, 18 units have been sold with more under negotiation.”
Delmar Marine will promote Severn Trent De Nora’s Balpure and Mariner Omnipure systems at the Europort Istanbul 12th International Maritime Exhibition taking place March 20 to 23, 2013 in Istanbul, Turkey. Severn Trent De Nora will participate in other major maritime exhibitions in the course of the year including Sea Asia in Singapore, April 9 to 11, 2013, Nor-Shipping in Norway, June 4 to 7, 2013, and Marintec in China Dec. 3 to 6, 2013.
