Ferrovial, an international infrastructure design and management company, announced that it has been awarded a wastewater treatment plant expansion contract in Texas worth USD $146 million.

The contract was awarded to PLW Waterworks, a subsidiary of Ferrovial. It consists of expanding the wastewater treatment plant in the city of Pflugerville to nearly double its current capacity, more than 30 million gallons (113 million liters) per day, to meet the needs of an area whose population is expected to reach 200,000 within two decades.

The work includes a pretreatment system, modernization of the membrane filtration plant, expansion of the high service pumping station, and a new recycle pump. The project is scheduled to begin this year and be completed in 2026.
