Feb. 11, 2005

The 14th International Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Waste Disposal and Recycling today announced the dates for its anticipated 2005 show; IFAT will run April 25-29, 2005, in Munich, Germany.

IFAT 2005, the world’s leading trade show for waste disposal and the environment, will feature an expanded program including innovative sector-specific products and state-of-the-art technology in the water, sewage and waste-disposal industries.

Messe München International, organizer of world leading trade shows such as IFAT, anticipates an increase in the number of international exhibitors for this year’s show as IFAT 2005 will feature an expanded range of exhibition themes and a larger program of related events, including new segments on noise reduction, soundproofing and air-pollution control. Messe München International will expand the water supply and waste disposal categories to reflect ongoing globalization as well as recent trends toward private service providers and the use of innovative hardware. This year, the exhibits will cover 1.78 million sq. ft. at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre.

"IFAT is the world's most comprehensive show, where you’ll find practical solutions to problems in all fields of water, sewage and waste disposal, recycling and environmental technology," said Eugen Egetenmeir, deputy managing director of Messe München International. "No other trade show in the world offers a broader forum for exhibitors and visitors to get all the information they need under one roof, and to meet and interact with other industry professionals on a global level."

IFAT has become the biggest global resource for visitors from the public sector, business, industry, local government and private service providers to discover new developments and gain the latest market information on environmental protection. IFAT 2002 welcomed over 97,000 visitors from 121 countries marking an increase in foreign attendance of 70% over IFAT 1999, with U.S. attendance up by 110%.
