Sandino Lands Engelbrecht Award

Dr. Julian Sandino will receive the prestigious 2007 Engelbrecht International Achievement Award from the Water Environment Federation (WEF) in a WEFTEC ceremony.

Sandino, a wastewater treatment fellow and assistant director of technology in CH2M Hill's Kansas City, Mo., office, leads and assists multidisciplinary teams in sanitary infrastructure and environmental projects worldwide. His work has included process evaluations and designs of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment facilities using both aerobic and anaerobic biological processes and physical/chemical processes for the stabilization of waste liquid streams and solids.

The Engelbrecht International Achievement Award was named in memory of Richard S. Engelbrecht, who served as WEF president from 1977 to 1978. The award recognizes sustained and significant contributions to furthering and improving WEF activities in the international arena.
