Penn Valley Pump Co. to Receive WEF Award

Sept. 15, 2008
Company will receive the Innovative Technology Award for the solids handling and disposal category

The Penn Valley Pump Co. of Warrington, Penn. will receive the prestigious Innovative Technology Award from the Water Environment Federation (WEF). The award will be presented during ceremonies at WEFTEC.08—WEF’s 81st annual technical exhibition and conference—Oct. 18 to 22, 2008, in Chicago.

The Innovative Technology Awards include the collection systems; instrumentation; process equipment; and solids handling and disposal categories. They are presented annually to WEF associate members who have introduced new innovative products or services related to the construction, operation or maintenance of treatment facilities. The Penn Valley Pump Co. is being recognized in the solids handling and disposal category for its Double Disc Pump technology. Although the theory of this pump design is not new, Penn Valley’s version is more efficient, easier to work on and capable of handling a much larger volume of solids at a lower RPM. The pump also works with existing pump frames when they are upgraded to the new design.
