The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Vanguard Homes are celebrating the completion of the nation's first home built and certified to be about 20% more water efficient than regular homes. Vanguard Homes is one of a few homebuilders nationwide to participate in a pilot program based on the draft specification for new homes under the WaterSense program.
There will be a press tour and media availability at the nation's first water-efficient home certified to meet the draft WaterSense specification on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 1:30 p.m. The home uses water-efficient products and practices inside and outside. The home is located at: Briar Chapel Community, 1256 Great Ridge Parkway, Chapel Hill, N.C.
