ITT Seminar Builds Customer Relationships

While building a strong presence in the the Caribbean region, ITT Water Treatment is taking a proactive approach to building customer relationships. A high level training seminar recently concluded at the ITT Boynoton Beach, Fla., facility, where ITT brought in officials from water and public works departments in Bermuda, Antigua, Mustique and Belize.
The three-day seminar covered the basics of RO technology, trouble-shooting a membrane and information about cleaning. An energy recovery expert was brought in to give a lecture about the pressure exchanger technology. Pumps were also “torn apart” to provide a learning experience.
According to Mainor Vega, who heads up the sales efforts for ITT’s desalination systems in the Caribbean region, “The seminar helps prepares the operators and owners a bit better when they have our systems and also builds up a tremendous amount of good will with a group of people that may hold future business in their hands. When they remember that we took the time to help and teach them, it will help give us an advantage.”
Vega noted that ITT is well positioned in this market and that there is a “tremendous future” for the business. “The competition is fierce, but we are unique because we have a one-on-one mentality with the customer. We listen, are creative and provide solutions. That is what sets us apart. We find out what the customer’s needs truly are and make sure the solution fits the requirements and works as expected.”
