LEC wins Telecom Awards; American Water CFO wins Philadelphia Business Journal Award

LEC Inc. Wins Two 2018 Telecoms Awards for IIoT Technology
LEC, Inc., an industrial automation control engineering and industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) company, announces its receipt of two TMT News 2018 Telecoms Awards: Best Industrial Automation Software Provider - USA, and IIoT Platform of the Year. The 2018 TMT News Telecoms Awards acknowledge those who have gone beyond their duty to provide technologies that innovate industry. The two honors recognize LEC’s success and leadership in producing and enabling advanced, rugged, robust, scalable, secure and efficient automation and control systems, and IIoT cloud platform technologies and services in the industrial marketplace.

Gradiant Corp. Unveils Asia-Pacific Headquarters
Gradiant Corp. announced it established a new research and development center in Singapore, which will also serve as the company’s Asia-Pacific headquarters. Establishing a base in Singapore will enable Gradiant to leverage talent and facilities to strengthen the its innovation and commercialization efforts. The creation of this Asia-Pacific headquarters, supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board, will allow Gradiant to expedite the development of solutions for industrial desalination, brine minimization and water reuse. Gradiant’s facility in Singapore initially will employ 10 senior water scientists and engineers, many of whom were trained at MIT, with plans to double the size of the team by year-end. Gradiant’s CTO and co-founder Prakash Govindan will lead the Singapore-based team.

Prince William County Service Authority Launches Interactive CIP Map
The Prince William County Service Authority has launched a new page on its website that features an interactive map of projects listed in its capital improvement program (CIP). The map can be found under the What We Do tab at Current and Future CIP Construction Projects link. All projects either in design or under construction can be found under a corresponding icon on the CIP application. Featured as an engineering compass (design) or a shovel (construction), each icon links directly to a data sheet with basic project details as well as anticipated cost per fiscal year.

Itron Signs Contract to Upgrade Pearland, Texas System
Itron Inc. will install its OpenWay Riva IoT solution for water plus leak sensors for the City of Pearland, Texas to reduce water loss and improve delivery of water to its 120,000 customers. The utility will also take advantage of Itron Analytics, a software-as-a-service offering that collects and analyzes data in the network to improve operational awareness. To increase metering accuracy, improve customer service and provide better water consumption data, the city of Pearland will replace its existing automated meter reading (AMR) system with 37,000 Itron OpenWay Riva water communication modules and leak sensors. With Itron Analytics, the city can make faster, more informed decisions about its operations and better account for water loss. As a part of the contract, Itron will install endpoints, routers and provide overall project management.

Philadelphia Business Journal Names American Water’s Linda Sullivan CFO of the Year
American Water, the largest publicly-traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company, announced that Linda Sullivan, executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a CFO of the Year honoree. The award honors those executives who exemplify the professionalism, integrity, resilience, mastery of all the financial and people skills that make a great CFO.

“I want to congratulate Linda on this well-deserved recognition,” said Susan Story, president and CEO for American Water. “Linda has made her mark on our company and throughout the water industry, not just through her proven financial expertise and experience, but through her strategic thinking, broad business savvy and leadership capabilities. Seeq Secures $23 Million Series B Funding for IIoT Advancements
Seeq Corp., a manufacturing and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) advanced analytics software company, announced it secured $23M in Series B funding led by the Altira Group with participation by Chevron Technology Ventures, next47, the Siemens-backed global venture firm, Second Avenue Partners and other existing investors. The funding enables Seeq to expand its development, sales and marketing resources, and also increase its presence in international markets.

Netzsch Opens Service Center in Texas
Netzsch Pumps North America LLC announced the opening of its new service center just north of Houston, Texas, which provides a range of pump service options to municipal customers throughout Texas. This 4,900 sq. ft. combined warehouse and office space now allows Netzsch to quickly provide local service to pump customers in Texas. The new Sales & Service Center is the home base for local technical support, inventory and its AWS-certified field service technicians. This grants immediate response to customer down conditions with parts, onsite repair, and other services. It will reduce downtime for customers experiencing pump system issues.

ADS Announces New Office Locations in Canada
ADS Environmental Technologies Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of ADS LLC and a provider of comprehensive solutions in full-service sewer flow, level, and rainfall monitoring and data management, announced the opening of two new Canadian offices in Vancouver and Toronto, Canada. The expansion of the company to Vancouver and Toronto will allow ADS to efficiently service existing wastewater customers and be even more responsive as the business continues to grow. ADS is also committed to serving our communities, and will expand its employee base by hiring many local, highly-skilled collection system professionals.
