USGBC-LA to Hold 17th Annual Municipal Green Building Conference and Expo

The U.S. Green Building Council Los Angeles (USGBC-LA) will hold its 17th Annual Municipal Green Building Conference & Expo on April 19, 2018 in Downey, Calif. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will also feature a global startup competition for companies in the green building industry. One winner will win the overall challenge, while three companies will be recognized in each category, which include Smart Infrastructure, Energy and Water Efficiency, and Waste.

Each of the three major categories are is broken down into subcategories:

  • Smart Infrastructure: Connecting Buildings, IoT Devices, Demand Response, Energy Storage
  • Energy & Water Efficiency: Lighting, HVAC, Building Control Systems, Smart Irrigation, Plug Load Monitoring, Building Envelope
  • Waste: Textile Recycling, Food Waste, Waste to Energy, Wastewater 

The companies selected as finalists will receive free exhibit space in the conference, along with the chance to take home $15,000 as the overall winner or $3,000 as a category winner.

Competition submissions are currently open, but the deadline of March 26, 2018, is rapidly approaching.
