Itron to Showcase OpenWay Riva Iot Solution at ACE

June 17, 2016
Solution enables active network

Itron, Inc. announced that it will showcase its next generation OpenWay Riva IoT solution at the Annual Conference & Exposition (ACE) held by the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

The OpenWay Riva solution features a network for smart water applications and allows an ecosystem of meters, network devices and distributed assets to communicate and interact throughout the network. This allows utilities and cities to use a single network for advanced meter infrastructure (AMI), water efficiency applications and system integrity management, including leak detection, pressure monitoring and remote disconnect. The platform provides an open application ecosystem that supports third party-developed applications.

“The OpenWay Riva IoT solution helps to solve the critical challenges facing water distribution networks by enabling utilities to run multiple applications on the same standards-based IPv6 network, creating new capabilities for water efficiency,” said Paula Billingham, Itron vice president of sales, marketing and delivery for Water North America. “The solution is now available for water utilities and will revolutionize our utility customers’ network modernization efforts. The solution will support AMI requirements of today while preparing utilities for whatever the future brings.”
