The California Rural Water Risk Management Authority (CRWRMA) has announced that applications are now being accepted for MemberGuard, a fully reinsured solution for California water entities. Formed by the California Rural Water Assn. (CRWA) and serviced by Glatfelter Public Practice, MemberGuard currently offers property and casualty coverage within the pool and workers compensation will soon be available separately. Unlike other pools, the CRWRWA affords members a choice—to access the pool via an owned agency, an agent or directly.
“We are excited to offer water entities across the state an alternative to traditional property and casualty insurance,” said Dustin Hardwick, director of resource development of CRWA and executive director of CRWRMA. “The mission of MemberGuard is to provide risk management and loss control services, paired with claims management and risk financing, offering increased stability and stable program membership while responding to the unique needs of this industry.”
This program is available to California mutual water companies and water-related public agencies that treat, store or distribute water such as water treatment districts, water utilities, drainage and ditch districts, irrigation districts, sewer districts, wastewater districts and more. Membership in the CRWA is required in order to join the pool.
