NGWREF Selects Eight Emerging Leaders to Attend Conference

The Emerging Leaders Alliance Conference will take place Nov. 8 to 11, 2015 in Reston, Va.

The National Ground Water Research and Educational Foundation (NGWREF) has chosen eight individuals to attend the Emerging Leaders Alliance Conference taking place Nov. 8 to 11, 2015 in Reston, Va.

The Emerging Leaders Alliance is a partnership among leading engineering and science-based organizations that provides high quality leadership training. Those chosen by NGWREF to attend the conference will experience a week of tuition-free presentations such as those on global and virtual team leadership, managing change and practices for leading innovation, among others.

Sponsoring groundwater industry emerging leaders is consistent with NGWREF’s commitment to continuing education in leadership skills that will enhance the future effectiveness of the groundwater professions and maximize the impact of groundwater for society.

Based on their commitment to the groundwater industry and their potential to lead the industry into the future, those chosen by NGWREF to attend the conference are:

  • Gretchen Miller, Ph.D., Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas;
  • Lauren Schapker, National Ground Water Assn., Alexandria, Va.;
  • Nathan Smith, CDM Smith, Denver; and
  • Becky Wiedorn, Ground Water Pump Systems, Boulder, Colo.
